A conversation I had with Don, a couple of months back:
HE: My brother bought a new LCD TV. He says it's better for his son's eyes.
ME: Yea, that's what every father will say when he wants to get a new HDTV.
...
Yes. Yes, that is what every father would say when they want to get a new HDTV.
It's better for Seth's eyes.
Our "Speedy" DVD player died a rather "Speedy" death. We'd resurrected it once before, but decided enough is enough.
So we went out to get a new basic DVD player.
Don and David recommended Pioneer. So, in the end, did the salesman.
There were two models - one with HDMI output and one with regular ol' output. We decided on the regular one, because, after all, our 29" Sony Black Trinitron ain't the epitome of high definition clarity.
"Just out of curiosity, how much are LCD TVs going for, nowadays?" I asked.
That's how we ended up with this Toshiba.
And, because it's hi-def, I had to up the ante on the DVD player as well.
So, now, Seth can watch his educational programmes with better care of his eyes.
Us fathers are all about sacrifice.
btw, I've finally watched Terminator: Salvation. Giant robots rock in hi-def.
